About this policy
Arclet ("Arclet", "we", "our", "us") is an Australian company registered in New South Wales. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect personal information when you visit arclet.io or use the Arclet interactive demo platform.
We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where you access Arclet from the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we also extend the individual rights described in the GDPR on a courtesy basis. References to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) are included for completeness for California residents.
If you have questions or concerns, contact us at hello@arclet.io.
Information we collect
Account and contact information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and (for paid plans) billing details. If you sign in via a third-party identity provider such as Google, we receive the profile information that provider shares with us.
Usage and log data. We automatically record IP addresses, browser and device type, pages visited, features used, and timestamps when you interact with the service. This helps us diagnose problems, measure performance, and improve the product.
Demo content. Arclet lets you record browser interactions and upload screenshots or video. The recordings, images, and any text you add to a demo are your content and are stored on your behalf. We do not use your demo recordings or customer data to train AI models.
Support communications. When you contact us for help, we retain a record of that conversation to resolve your query and improve our support quality.
Cookies and tracking. We use first-party cookies for session management and authentication. We may use analytics tools that place cookies to help us understand aggregate traffic patterns. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling certain cookies may affect functionality.
How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Provide, operate, and secure the Arclet service
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Send transactional emails (account confirmation, invoices, password resets)
- Send product update and marketing emails where you have opted in or where permitted by law
- Respond to support requests
- Analyse aggregate usage to improve features and fix bugs
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell personal data. We do not use your information for automated individual decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Sharing your information
We share personal information only in the circumstances described below:
Service providers. We engage third-party companies to help us deliver Arclet. These providers fall into the following categories: cloud hosting and storage, payment processing, transactional email delivery, AI-assisted text generation, product analytics, and customer support tooling. Each provider is engaged under a data processing agreement and is permitted to use your data only to deliver the contracted service.
Legal and safety obligations. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Arclet, our users, or the public.
Business transfers. If Arclet is acquired or merges with another entity, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
We do not share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.
Demo content and recordings
Your demo recordings, screenshots, and customer-uploaded media are your content. You control who can access them through the sharing and permission settings in the Arclet editor.
We store your content on your behalf and process it to deliver the service (for example, to transcode video or generate thumbnails). We do not use your demo recordings or any customer-provided content to train AI models, including the AI text generation features described below.
Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal information within 90 days, except where we are required by law to retain it longer (for example, financial records under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth)) or where it is necessary to defend a legal claim.
Demo content is deleted within 90 days of account closure unless you export it beforehand.
International data transfers
Arclet is an Australian company, but we use service providers whose infrastructure may be located in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where personal information is transferred outside Australia, we take reasonable steps to ensure recipients handle it consistently with the APPs, including by relying on contractual protections equivalent to the GDPR standard contractual clauses where applicable.
Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and aggregate analytics. A "cookie" is a small text file stored in your browser. You can disable or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may prevent some features—such as staying logged in—from working correctly.
We do not use third-party advertising cookies or engage in cross-site behavioural advertising.
Your privacy rights
Access and correction. Under the APPs, you may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct any inaccuracies. We will respond within 30 days.
Deletion. You may request deletion of your account and personal information at any time by emailing hello@arclet.io. We will action your request within 30 days, subject to any legal retention obligations.
EEA and UK users. On a courtesy basis, we honour the rights under GDPR Article 15–22 for users in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, including the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. To exercise these rights, contact hello@arclet.io.
California users. California residents may request disclosure of the categories of personal information we have collected about them and with whom we have shared it. We do not sell personal information, and we do not engage in sharing for cross-contextual behavioural advertising as defined by CPRA. To make a verifiable consumer request, contact hello@arclet.io.
Children
Arclet is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will delete it promptly.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No internet transmission is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Continued use of Arclet after the updated policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
