1. Step 1

   Start with a page or database

   Open a new or existing page in your workspace, or navigate to a database you already use. If you don't have one yet, follow the steps to create a database first, since gallery is just a different way to view that same data.

2. Step 2

   Add a gallery view

   Hover the database title and click the + icon that appears (once a database has several views, the + also sits after the view tabs). A dropdown appears listing all view types available in Notion.

3. Step 3

   Select Gallery from the menu

   Choose Gallery from the list of view options. Notion instantly converts your entries into cards arranged in a grid, using the same underlying data as your table or list.

4. Step 4

   Customize what shows on each card

   Click the Settings (sliders) icon in the view toolbar, then go to the Layout section. Here you can choose whether cards display a page cover, the page's content, or nothing at all, and you can add a cover to any card from its page with Add cover.

   Pick a card size

   In the same Layout section, set your card size to small, medium, or large depending on how much detail you want visible at a glance. Larger cards work well for photo-heavy galleries, while smaller cards fit more entries on screen.
